Oaklands Computer Services sells Samsung notebooks. But buying a laptop from us isn’t like buying it from a major chain or online.

A laptop from a major store will have software that you don’t need or want. “Utilities” that don’t help you. Games you’ll never play. Trials you’ll use once before they expire and sit around doing nothing. Anti-virus software which makes you pay a subscription for something that slows your computer down without giving you all the protection you need.

Our laptops are different.

As soon as we get your new laptop, we install a correctly formatted, performance enhanced version of the all new Windows 7 operating system with an array of free software which you will actually find useful:

1. Avast and MalwareBytes – free Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware software which will keep your computer safe without slowing it down.
2. Firefox – a free web browser which is faster than Internet Explorer and comes with ad blocking capabilities.
3. OpenOffice – free word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs that work just like Microsoft Office.
4. Nero 7 Essentials - free CD and DVD burning software
5. PowerDVD Suite 7 - free software for watching DVDs on your computer
6. And nothing else.

You can also get your computer with Windows XP if you prefer; you’ll get the same great hardware, the same brilliant software and optimisation, all with the Operating System you know and love.

The hard drive is a lot more than just a place for you to store documents, pictures, music and video. A slow hard drive can make for slower performance as it takes longer to access the programs you need to run. For ultimate performance, we can swap out the stock hard drive for an even faster one.

Just like our desktops, we want you to be happy with your new laptop. So, in the unlikely event that your laptop doesn’t work properly, you’ll be safe in the knowledge that it’s covered by up to 3 years warranty, provided by us.
